Our Family Caring For Your Family Since 1903
pA Little About Us...
In 1903, John J Kish started the Kish Funeral Home at 121 Christian Street in Philadelphia using a horse drawn hearse. Dying at the young age of 43, John’s wife Rose Kish, continued to operate the funeral home until their son was of age to do so. John J. Kish Jr expanded the business in 1933 to 65th and Elmwood Avenue in Philadelphia. It was here that he and his wife Claire raised their family and continued the family business.
After serving in the military, their son, John J Kish II followed in his father’s footsteps and became a funeral director. In 1978, John J Kish II started a second location at Sproul and Lawrence Roads in Broomall.
In 1991, his daughter Lorianne became licensed and joined her father. Together they continue
the family tradition.
“We try to serve our families with old-fashioned kindness and
understanding, aware and respective of traditions and values yet
meet their modern needs of today. We enjoy and are very proud
of our reputation of very fair pricing yet providing a personal
and caring service”
